The 2nd Research Methods Summer School for Research Students will be held at the Premises of School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 3–8 August 2015. This event aims to improve the research capability of doctoral students in tourism and hospitality. It also provides a platform for the students to broaden their academic horizon through interacting with fellow research students from other countries. The Summer School will be co-organized by SHTM, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and School of Tourism Management (STM) of the Sun Yat-sen University. Hosted by SHTM, the Summer School will be facilitated by renowned researchers who have considerable experience in shaping tourism and hospitality research and supervision of research students.
“第二届中国旅游管理博士学术训练营”将于2015年8月3日至8月8日在香港理工大学酒店及旅游业管理学院举行。此次活动旨在提高旅游与酒店管理专业博士研究生的学术研究能力，为学员提供与不同国的博士生互动交流的学术平台，从而达到拓宽学术视野的目的。本届训练营由香港理工大学酒店及旅游业管理学院（SHTM）和中山大学旅游学院（STM）联合举办，香港理工大学酒店及旅游业管理学院承办，将邀请在旅游和酒店研究方面的著名学者担任学术导师。

The theme of this Summer School will be “Advancing Tourism and Hospitality Research”. The training will cover such areas as, quantitative and qualitative methods in tourism and hospitality research, advanced econometric methods, analysis of social networking, application of experiential research and case study in tourism research, writing specifications of tourism research papers (in English) and research design, methodology in tourism research, practices, technology and specifications in field trips, etc. A distinctive feature of the Second Research Methods Summer School is that the lectures and tutorials will place a greater emphasis on the international best practices in tourism research. Students will also be exposed to critical reviews of the published studies so that they can gain insights into the frontiers of tourism research. This Summer School will be an important academic event for research students from home and abroad to share their research ideas and to learn from the world leading experts in tourism and hospitality research. The event will also contribute to a systematic examination of the basic theories as well as their applications to tourism and hospitality research.
本届学术训练营的主题是“促进旅游与酒店业研究”，主要内容包括“旅游与酒店研究的定量方法和定性方法”、“高级计量经济学方法”、“社会网络分析”、“实验研究和案例研究在旅游研究中的应用”、“旅游研究论文（英文）写作规范和研究设计”“旅游研究方法论、实地调研、常用方法、技术与范例”等。 第二届训练营的独特之处在于所有的讲座与研讨会都将更注重国际旅游研究的最佳实践，学生们将通过发表研究报告的评论来洞悉了解最前沿的旅游研究方法。 本届学术训练营是一场国内外知名旅游学者与博士研究生，分享旅游与酒店研究方法及心得的学术盛会，将为各位学员系统钻研旅游与酒店研究的基本理论和应用方法提供切实帮助。
