1st Asian Cultural Heritage Conservation & Utilization Proposal Competition Call for Participation
1st Asian Cultural Heritage Conservation & Utilization Proposal Competition
CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
Background
Asia is the world’s largest and most populous continent. It is a major birthplace of human civilization and the fastest-growing and most dynamic region in the world. However, due to the impacts of urban development, climate change, the COVID-19 pandemic and armed conflicts, cultural heritage properties across Asia are facing unprecedented challenges.
Echoing the Asian Initiative for Cultural Heritage Conservation, the China Foundation for Cultural Heritage Conservation Fund created the Asia Cultural Heritage Fund in 2022. In collaboration with the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Tourism in UNESCO Designated Sites at Sun Yat-sen University, this fund is proud to organize and present the inaugural Asia Cultural Heritage Conservation & Utilization Proposal Competition. This competition aims to promote cultural heritage education between Asian countries, share cultural heritage protection and utilization best practices, spread the concept of sustainable development of cultural heritage and strengthen cultural exchanges and knowledge sharing among the youth in Asian countries. Highlighting youth participation in this competition, we also wish to build a network of exchanges, cooperation, presentation, and communication for youngsters of Asian countries and enhance their knowledge and interest in Asia’s cultural heritage.
