Key Laboratory
The Key Laboratory of Sustainable Tourism Intelligent Evaluation Technology, Ministry of Culture and Tourism (hereinafter referred to as "the Laboratory") is a laboratory dedicated to big data collection, analysis, and application for sustainable tourism monitoring. It is based on the Management and Monitoring Center for Sustainable Tourism Observation Points of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, supported by the School of Tourism and the School of Artificial Intelligence of Sun Yat-sen University, and integrates the strengths of two advantageous disciplines at Sun Yat-sen University: tourism management and computer science and technology. Additionally, it collaborates with teams from the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Big Data Analysis and Processing and the Research Center for Tourism Development and Planning of Sun Yat-sen University. The Laboratory is primarily engaged in research in two directions: sustainable tourism data collection and intelligent processing, as well as sustainable tourism evaluation and service technology.
The laboratory is led by Professor Xu Honggang, Dean of the School of Tourism at Sun Yat-sen University, and the Academic Committee is chaired by Professor Gong Huili from the School of Resources, Environment and Tourism at Capital Normal University.
